NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards Gala Dinner, Thursday 1 September

Celebrate Aotearoa's finest ice cream and gelato at the 25th NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards Dinner!

Scheduled to directly follow the NZ Ice Cream Association 2022 Conference, you'll enjoy a three-course dinner and the opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues as well as learn this year's 15 Category Champions and the two Supreme Champions!

There are only 120 tickets, so book early to avoid missing out! $195 + GST ($224 including GST) for members.

With a focus on 'Sustainable Business', this year's conference is a  day not to be missed. 

As well as an opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues, we have a jam-packed programme, which is designed to support you and your business. 

Speakers include; Nerys Williams, Associate Director, Retail Intelligence at Nielsen IQ, sharing NZ Consumer Insights;  Chris Tennent-Brown, ASB, Senior Economist updating us on the all-important economic forecast; Simon Berry, CEO of Whitestone Cheese Co sharing his family business story and Australian Market Perspective from Donato Toce of Gelato Messina. The day will finish with 'Tasting the trends' - NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards Gold Medal tasting with Chief Judge, Jackie Matthews.

The conference is at Remera Golf Club, only 10 - 15  minutes from the city, with plenty of parking. We'll finish up by 3.30 pm to allow plenty of time to get ready for the NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards Gala Dinner.

From its first store in 2002, Messina now has 24 stores in Australia - with plans to open another 10 this year.  To ensure quality they have a dairy farm for milk and a hazelnut farm and they make everything from scratch with 40 chefs working fulltime! Whitestone Cheese was founded in 1987. Today tits one of New Zealand's largest cheesemakers and rit remains family-owned. Its Oamaru factory employs more than 75 staff and Simon Berry, son of founders Bob and Sue Berry, oversees the business management, cheesemaking team and production. 

NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards Judging

Chief Judge Jackie Matthews supported by a panel of 20 judges and 10 stewards, assessed more than 270 entries over the weekend. 

We were pleased to judge at Onehunga High School's new technology centre, which was a pleasure. What's more, we were able assisted by five pupils and school staff.
